THREATENING BEHAVIOUR
DRUNKEN MAN BOUND OVER. (By Telegraph —Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Nov. 27. “If lie hadn’t been held back goodness knows what might have happened,” said counsel for .a woman (Mrs Wilson) when Leo Arnold Smith was charged with threatening bodily harm at Devonport last night to her and her husband, and to Smith’s son, adopted by the Wilsons many years ago. A constable said that Smith was mad drunk, but he had no weapons. Smith expressed regret and agreed to a prohibition order and being bound over. The magistrate (Mr F. K. Hunt): “If you go near them again I’ll give you six months.” LABOURER, GIVEN CHANCE. CHRISTCHURCH. Nov. 27. William Robert Sharp, a labourer, aged .20, was admitted to probation for 12 months by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., to-day on a charge of threatening behaviour. Sharp originally was charged with demanding money by menace, having threatened pedestrians in Manchester Street, but the charge was reduced by the magistrate to threatening behaviour.
