BLENDING OF BUTTER

APPLICATION FOR MARKING ORDER. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11.30 a.m., to-day. LONDON, Oct v ' 28. The standing committee of the. Ministry of Agriculture considered an application for a marking order for butter from 23 bodies-, including the Australian and New Zealand Dairy Produce Boards.

Applicants’ counsel pointed out that blended butter was sold in England at a higher price than any of its constituents. About 10 per cent, of New Zealand butter was blended with 40 per cent of Australian and 50 of Russian and European. The public, who were entitled to know the source of their butter, were being misled.
