Very good scores were made in a friendly match between Hawera A\ ednesdayt and Old Boys Wednesday teams yesterday, an enjoyable time being spent despite the bad weather conditions. The Hawera team won by 56 runs. The former went in first and rattled up 173, a feature of the innings being tile excellent first wicket stand by Worrall and Sargent, .who just failed to get the century before the former was bowled by Johnson. Worrall-made 39 and' Sargent 87. but the rest of the team, with the exception of Duncan (19), failed badly and added only 35 runs. Extras totalled 12 and the innings closed for 173. P. Clarke four wickets for 32). G. Moloney (two for 39) and Johnson (two for 1 29) were the opposing best bowlers. The Oldi Boys’ team also jpnened well. Horsburgh (24) and Moloney" (27). putting on 51, while Clarke also batted nicely for 15, and then wickets fell fast till F. Clark© came to the rescue with a breezy 31, and with extras the total reached 117. Worrall (four wickets for 52), McFadven (three for 30). Stevens (two for 6), and Sargent (one for 8) were responsible for all the wickets. TEAMS FOR. SATURDAY. The Hawera; team to play Old Boys B at Hawera on Saturday will be: Giblin. Nielsen, Crombie.
