METHODIST SALE OF WORK. After a period o f consistent and regular work each fortnight, the Alcremere Ladies’ Guild held a very successful sale of work and garden party at the pretty residence of Mr and Airs G. W. Williams, kindly lent to the guild for toe occasion. Despite very unfavourable weather there "was a good attendance and satisfactory business was done. '.llie list- of stalls with their organisers was as follows: Plain, Airs A. Williams and Airs Gardner- fancy, Airs Andrews and Airs Wallace; sweets. Airs Miller, Air A. W. Williams and Air G. Wallace; tea. rooms. Airs Aim- ray. Airs Looney. Airs Swaddel, Mrs AlcNaught; Sunday School stall. Aliss Murray and Miss Wallace; games, Mr G. AV. Williams and Rev. E. S. Jdmmitt.
The general arrangements were in the capable hands of a. committee under the direction of Mrs. G. W. Williams (president) and Aliss Renowden (honorary secretary). In the evening there was a very interesting concert programme given in the hall when the following took part: Airs Hartmann, Airs Tozer, Airs DryWW;. Rev. E. S. Eminitt, and Air A. \\ illiams (songs), Airs Tozer and Aliss Spurdle (vocal duet), little Aliss Wilhams (piano solo). Anecdotes were told by Rev. E. H. Emmitt and concerted numbers given by a party from the Piawera choir completed the programme. There was a large audience and the performers were given an excel lent .reception.
