As a result of the recent purchase of the assets of the “Auckland Sun” by New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., certain erroneous rumours, are in circulation. The real facts are that the plant, buildings and such business of the “Sim” newspapers, Auckland, as it proves possible to transfer have been purchased. The transaction is confined to Auckland solely and New Zealand Newspapers, papers in Christchurch (“Star” and “Times’’) are in no way involved or concerned in the deal, nor is the Christchurch paper of Sun Newspapers, Ltd.
