The death is reported by cable from London of General Sir Bryant Mahon. Mr David Jones, M.P., was yesterday re-elected chairman of the Meat Producers’ Board, states a Wellington Press Association message. Mr W. J. Bardsley, secretary of the Otago Harbour Board, who attained the age for retirement on superannuation this month, has been, requested by the board to continue in office. Mr J. G. Wightman, of Feilding, who has been acting as judge in the daffodil section of Eltliam Horticultural Society’s show, returned to Feilding to-day. In acknowledgment of the kindness of Mrs J. 'Henry in looking after the jerseys of the Hawera Football Club’s senior fifteen during the past season, a presentation was made to her on Saturday o.f a handsome bowl on a silver stand. The presentation was made by Mr J. E. Campbell, the president, on behalf of the committee and members and was deeply appreciated by Mrs Henry.
