The last stages in connection with the removal of the library to the new rooms in the Hunter Shaw memorial building are almost completed anci, when these are finalised, subscribers will have the improved facilities provided thereby. . _ , r . . The new librarian, Miss L. Minton, commenced her duties to-day and the whole institution will he in full swing bv the end of the week. “ There were separate sections lor trie circulation .department and reading room and all are excellently equipped to provide for "the comfort and oonvenienoe of members.
SPRING- FLOWER SHOW
A great success was secured by the committee organising the flower show for St. George's Church, held in the Sunday School on Tuesday. There was a fine' assortment of blooms of every kind, making a wonderful-display. The show of blooms from the garden of Mr Knowles, Wlienuakura was a feature oi the day and was much admired.
PERSONAL
Mrs J. G. O. Wales, who has been on a, visit to her parents, Mr and All's J. A,. HasweJl, lias left on her return to Auckland. The departure from the district oi Rifleman G. W. King, of Patea, was referred to at the annual meeting or the Defence Rifle Club last week. It was decided to . place on record the club’s appreciation of -the. services rendered by Mr King.
