(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2.15 p.m., to-dav. VANCOUVER, Sept. 12.
The need for mutual faith in commerce, particularly between members of the British Commonwealth of Nations, and the non-value of one-sided trade were emphasised by Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister of New Zealand, when addressing the Canadian Club on Friday. He said that from less than 12,000.000 dollars in 1026, Canadian trade to New Zealand had increased to more than 23,000,000 dollars in 1029, while New Zealand’s trade to Canada had increased from 0,000,000 to 16,000,000 dollars. He said: “We have great hopes that this increase will continue. However, there has been a change in your fiscal •policy which may effect trade between us. We had hoped by sending you large supplies of butter that we might build up that balance which we buy from you. “I have high hopes that my discussions with the Premier of Canada will lead ns to an agreement which will be mutually beneficial. We hope to have some exports that we may extend to you.”
