The Spanish Government has granted a contract to the chief of the Forestry Institute to make investigations and experiments. A test plant of simple design will be erected. .Reports state that the plant can be erected in small units, at little cost, thus obviating heavy distribution charges from a central depot. The plant consists of three ovens made of metal plates and rings of sheet iron, each oven being used for a. different phase of the process.

Comprehensive tests are to he made of the new fuel before a market is sought.
