A message from Corsica states that the commander of a French submaiine, upon ascending two miles from the coast, rubbed his eyes with amazement on seeing a girl swimming to the ship, waving her hand and calling in English: “May T come aboard and have a look round.” A hatchway' was opened and the bather was charmingly welcomed and entertained. She proved to be. a noted swimmer, Miss Rutter. She spent half-an-hour in the submarine and then dived from the conning-tower and swam ashore, where she is holidaying.
