Ex-President lrigoyen is ill, and an order has been issued for the arrest of members of his former Cabinet and supporters in Congress. To-day everything is quiet, following a night of wild confusion and shooting among the troops loyal to the Uriburu regime. Arising from a tragic error among soldiers defending the central post office and Government House, seven persons were killed and 56 wounded. During the confusion reports spread that the Argentine Navy squadron of 18 vessels in .Buenos Aires harbour had begun to bombard the capital. 1 ive shrapnel shells were rired by light artillery defending Government House in the direction of the harbour, all falling ...close to the . ships of ..Admiral Storm. One shell exploded on the destroyer Mendoza,., killing a petty officer. /It was said this morning that three four post office clerks bad been summarily executed after they had been discovored shooting from behind at soldiers defending the post office. About 15 persons are being held ior summary execution on charges ol looting. Tbs disastrous effect of shooting is apparent in the finest quarters of the city. The Plaza de Mayo and the space lietweeu Government House and the central post office was a shambles, with scarcely a window fronting the area unbroken.

RIGID CENSORSHIP PREVAILS
NEW YORK, Sept. 9,
Despite rigid censorship at Buenos Aires on Monday, it was learned at Montevideo early on Tuesday that sanguinary lighting had. taken place during Monday evening. Firing broke out at 9 p.m. in various parts of the city, but it is impossible to say exactly what happened. . Private advices from Buenos Aires earlv on Tuesday said there had been firing in the city on Monday evening because of misunderstanding, but rpiiet now prevailed. The political situation is said to be unchanged.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. Mr. E. S. Boldwin, Consul for Argentina, has received a. cable from the Argentine Government as follows: A coup d’etat led by General Uruburu, with the support of armed forces and the entire populace; of the capital, has brought about as a consequence the resignation of President lrigoyen _ and Vice-President Martinez. A provisional Government of the nation has been constituted in the following form: ijyesident, Lieutenant-General dose ■J^jfFburu. ' VTce-President, Enrique 5 atamrma. Minister of Interior. Mata is G. Sanchez Sorondo. . 0 , Minister of Exterior, Ernesto Bosh. Minister of Finance, Enriques Perez. Minister of Justice, Ernesto Padilla. Minister of Public Works, Octavio Pi vo. . Minister of Agriculture, Horacio is. V a vela. Minister of War, General F. Medina Minister of Marine, Rear-Admiral A. Remard. Armed forces have made no iurthei movement than a peaceful march, accompanied by the entire populace, which enthusiastically accailms the new Government. Order and quiet reign throughout the country.
