A storm over the Mungana inquiry broke in the Queensland Parliament when the Attorney-General, Mr. McGroarty, moved for the introduction of a Bill to amend the Crown Remedies Act of 1874. He stated that the reason why Mr. Theodore had not been criminally prosecuted was that evidence given before a Royal Commission could not be used in criminal proceedings. The Government was now introducing legislation to amend the law so that civil (lotion may be taken. The Bill’ was read for a first time.
