Tli© jockey Monro, who returns, to Australia at the end of the flat racing season, now ranks .sixth, riding 30 winners in 86 races. Galloping on the tracks to-day Gay Ballerina, stuck herself. Her leg has filled and she will be out' of action for a couple of weeks. Linferick continues to stand up to work in good style. At Randwick today he beat First Sight over six furlongs in 1.17. Chide moved well over seven furlongs in 1.345, and Gay Crest covered a mile in 1.50. Nightmarch ran .seven furlongs in 1.32. Arikiwai was lame' after Saturday’s race but Trainer Jones is not able to •say whether the injury will be of long duration. Goshawk, which fell on Saturday, is still sore, hut the trouble is not serious.
MEN ANGLE PARK WELTER. BAY ACRE WINS. SYDNEY. Aug. 26. At the Menangle Park races to-day the Welter Handicap (first division) was won by Bay Acre (New Zealand) 8.11 (Riecd) 1, with Ruffler (10.10) second and Grit-all (9.3) third. Twelve started. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.155.
