MR. T. HUPA TO STAND

(By Telegranh—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Aug. 23. Advice has been received that Mr. Talciwaiora Hupa, late Native Inspector of the- Health Department for the Tai-Hauauru (West Coast- district) lias been requested by prominent Maoris of Wanganui, Taranaki, Waikato and Rntanu to stand as representative lor the Western Maori electorate in the coming by-election. Mr. Hupa, in accepting nomination (as an Independent Reform candidate), has asked that any further discussion on the matter be deferred until the conclusion of the funeral of the late Sir Maui Romaic.
