CANTERBURY PRODUCE MARKET. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 22. The potato section of the market remains the chief centre of interest this week. There has been a further slight easing from tliei £2 10s a. ton oil trucks reported on. Wednesday. The value today fs £2 5s to £2 7s fkl a ton on trucks to growers, the lowest figure that has been known ill August for very many years. Dakotas are no better hud sales were made to-day at 62s 6d f.0.b., sacks in. The Wingatui, which left Lyttelton this week took 2760 sacks from Tima.ru and 3780 sacks from Lyttelton, making a total of 6540 sacks. The Waipiata is to load at Tiinaru early next week and at Lyttelton on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, and it is indicated that 'both will take largo quantities Of tubers north. Small seeds, oats and wheat show little market animation. Millers are buying occasional lines of next season’s wheat at 5s 9«J f.o.b. or 5s 6d to 5s 7d on trucks according to stations. Fowl wheat is firm at 6s: 2d f.o.b. sacks extra.
