R OTOKARE PARK BOARD. QUARTERLY MEETING. _ (From Our Own Correspondent.) The quarterly meeting of the Kotobare Park Board vras lield in tlio Municipal Buildings last night. Those present ■were Messrs. O. H. W hite (chairman), W. Scanners, I. JBridger, L. White, and H. Murray (secretary.) , r • The secretary, reported that Mr - \V. Stanners’ appointment to .the board had been confirmed and gazetted-. Mr Bridger stated that 'since last meeting £IOO had beeii .spent in. improving the road to .the. lake, and -he was endeavouring to secure -another grant of £IOO for unemployment relief purposes, to he spent on completing the improvements right to the reserve gates. AH’ C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., was also dealing with the matter and advice was expected in a few days)
RED CROSS. A special meeting of the _ Eltham branch of the Red Cross Society , was held last night for the purpose of deciding whether the result of the appeal for left-off clothing and other -saleable articles was sufficient to warrant the committee holding a jumble sale day... . The chairman (Mr I. J. Bridger) said that so far the response had not been very extensive—not sufficient, in Ids opinion, to warrant a sale being .held, but more may come in during the next few days. It was decided not to conduct a sale day at present, but to distribute the articles that had been sent in. to the needy. _ A committee consisting of Mesdames Syme, Reakes and Ricketts was appointed to deal with the matter. It was reported that so far it had not been found possible to hold a fancy dress football match in aid of the fund.
