NEW, ZEALAND TEAM TROUNCED QUEENSLAND’S EASY WIN. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). BRISBANE, July 27. The New Zealand League team reached a low mark in yesterday’s match against Queensland, and were trounced by 32 to 6. Only in the opening stages of the' game did the New Zealanders appear to have a chance of victory, when they attacked Avith vigour and several times stormed Queensland’s line. ’Their tactics, however, were orthodox, and did not occasion alarm among the Queenslanders. At half-time, through fine kicking by E'ckoff, the scores were close —Queensland 8 points, New Zealand 6. Three goals were kicked by Eckhofi'. In the second half the Queenslanders overAvhelmed their opponents and scored almost at will. The New Zealanders Avere unable to cope with the delightfully free passing and scintillating unorthodox movements. They made a final effort, however, toward the end of the game, but found the defence too strong for them. Hie Neaa Zealanders individually tackled effeetively, but were too frequently found out of position. The best New Zealand backs were Brisbane, Abbott, and Dodds, and the best forwards Eckhoff, Griffiths and Stephenson.
