Signor Mussolini has recieved a report that the number killed in the earthquake in Southern Italy is 2112 and the injured 4551. The list is still incomplete. The King traversed the ruins ol the village of Lacedonia and found at the end an old man weeping inconsolably. He was the only survivor of an entire family. His 24 children and grandchildren had perished at Malfi. The King was deeply moved at the sight of a girl just being taken out of the ruins of her home with both legs severed. Ten people were unearthed who had been buried since Wednesday, and it is hoped that most will survive.
