HAWERA TRACK NOTES

The local tracks were in good orclea and the weather line for training operations this morning. A fair amount of interesting work was performed. The fast work was executed on the trial grass.
The Palmerston North engaged horses, Oinzone andi Calamine, were first to gallop. Starting from the mile post slowly, they clapped on the pace from the six fun-longs anti ran from there home in 1.23, Ora zone being slightly in 'front.
The Acne-Mars urna. gelding 'and Son o’ Mine sprinted three fuirtongs in 40, finishing together. Piclifield went on the plough track to do pace work, 'but could! not .be restrained from running- half-a-miliei in 53 sets. The Sheffield - Recherche filly Missciheff shaped well with Gasnapper in a three-furlong sprint on the grass in 41*. Mendip was hard to hold back in his pace work on the sand. Si'i'vermine and Mt. Shannon were trotted on the: inside, Gowan Lea also being given light exercise. The Warden, accompanied by Double Red for a. couple of furlongs, ran his five furlongs in 1.9. The two junipers for Mannwatu, Pikimaii (Conway) and Coney (Tucker) went a round of the schooling Jhurd, lies, both jumping splendidly. Airtight and Green Linnet were riven light exercise. Havering ran a mile, the last, six being run comfortably in 1.27. The coining two-year-olds by Laiokham —Town Moor and l Ruapaipa,- —Inah had 1 their initial sprint up the straight this morning. comportng theimseilves .well, while the Grand court fifty-and Tea Tray colt in O. Cox’s stable sprinted! a couple cf furlongs down fllie halck smartly. Maidos (Conway) gave a fine exhibition over the big fences ridden by ]M. Conwav.
