The death occurred this morning of Mr. .John Power, of Paten. Air. Power, who was manager of Gibson’s, Ltd., was an old resident of Pate a and very well known throughout, this district.
Residents of Marinin, and district will learn with regret- of the death, at the Hawora Public Hospital yesterday, of Mr Arthur Scott beviugs, second son of Mrs Jean and the late Mr George borings, of Mniinia Road. Manaia, after a. protracted illness. Deceased was a highlv-osteiemed and popular resident of the district, and the deepest sympathy will he extended to the members if his family. The funeral 1 will Iwc the residence, Manaia Roaid. to-morrow. An eloquent tribute was paid by the president of the Ee.mont A. and P. Association (Mr. W. McL’Dowio) at to-day’s meeting of the committee to the work of Air. P. H. Tocker, who wrote- forwarding his resignation as a member of the association. The president said that Mr. Tocker lmd always been a great worker and a very familiar form on the ground at showtime as a steward in the Clydesdale section. It was resolved to write expressing regret at Air. Tucker’s leaving and thanking him for his past services. The motion was canned with acclamation.
