IMPROVISED BELT DRIVE
When ordinary strap leather is used for fan-belt- drives a very satisfactory joint can he made hv chamfering the ends and overlapping them, then tacking them together with six or eight tacks on each .side, the length of the tacks hein.o, such that the points can he just turned over. Many joints have been made in this way, and it has been found that the belt does not click at the joint and will stand up to a terrilic amount of hard work.
