FARMERS’ TOUR
SOUTH TARANAKI VISIT. NORTH AUCKLAND PARTY. Representative of various portions oi the North Auckland district from Whangai e.i t.o the north, 33 members of a 'touring party arranged by the Farmers’ Union Organisation in conjunction with the Railway Department, arrived at> Hawera front Hamilton sboitlv before 3 o’clock this afternoon. Mr E. K. Cameron, .secretary of the South Taranaki Provincial Executive, oi the Farmers’ Union, who .supervised the local arrangements, proceeded to Waverley to-day and joined the train conveying the party. . The afternoon programme included an official reception at the Islington Tea Rooms, visits to King Edward Park and the dairy laboratory, and this evening the party members are to he the guests of the Farmers’ Union at the Opera. House entertainment. Cars are tn assemble at the Aleniorial Arch at 9 a.m. to-morrow and convey the party on inspections of dairy herds and centres of interest in the surrounding district, and the party is to leave Hawera by the south express train on Saturday.
