ORG A NTS ATT ON Al ATTF.RS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) YV ELLINGTON, June to. Tlie Women’s Division of the .Farmers’ Union conference: was continued to-day, -Mrs C. C. Jackson presiding. R-einit's were passed agreeing that in future: the banner should be hold by the branch which gains the largest number of new members for the year, as some, districts' wore difficult- ta 'Organise in ' one month ; .also that this year should be a special year for organising, and' with this end in view u fund should- be opened for one year only. Branches arc to be urged to give voluntary contributions to this fund, as it would eventually strengthen tlie division’s financial position. A special organising committee was set up. Mrs YY'. H. Ward mas appointed to write short articles on the division’s activities for printing and distribution* to new branches to help them during the first year. Any new branch that desires it may be adopted by an older branch to help it become well established.

It was agreed that where desired two members of the local Farmers’ Union bo appointed as advisory members of each branch.

Speakers stressed the point that the Women’s Division wa® non-political, and the remit that all printed matter should make this plain was carried.

Officers elected were: Dominion president, Mrs- C. G. Jackson; Dominion vice-presidents, Mosdamcs Niederer, Clark, Preston: (‘South Island), MeiCorkindalc, Wickham, Joll (North Island) , Dominion treasurer, Mrs D. Simpson; advisory board, Mesdamos Derbyshire, Hall, Ward (South Island), Miss Poison, Mesdamois Cocker and Wilson (North Island). The dearth of domestic help in the country districts was discussed when a letter from! the Overseas League, asking the division’s co-operation- in the .sending of farm girls to the Dominion by the league was received. A motion proposed by Miss Carter that the division co-operate with the Government in placing girls sent by the league and to act as “big sisters” to them was carried.
