A large number of Congress volunteers, wiio have been waiting tor some time to raid tiie salt depot at Dharasna, near Rom Day, eluded tlie police guards at noon yesterday and rushed toward the salt pans. Nine volunteers were injured in the ensuing; scuttle. A batch of volunteers, commanded by Mrs. Naidu, were removed bodily dv the police alter having lain on the road for 28 hours.f ollowing the bombing of certain villages on tiie Mohmaud border by the Air Force and a round-up of agitators by troops and police, the situation on the north-west frontier is now reported to be improving. Revolutionary gangs known as “Redsliirts” are showing considerable activity in cutting the barbed-wire in front of British posts at night. Several Congress leaders have been arrested in Koha Bannu and Thai. In the last-named troops were called in to deal with a threatening mob.
