TWO OARS ALSO IN COLLISION

A delivery van, owned by Simon and Co., Grocers, Hawera, was badly smashed at the High Street crossing on Saturday evening in a collision with an incoming slow' train from the south The driver escaped injury. A second accident, arising out of the first’occurred at the same'spot shortly afterwards. A three-seater car, entering High Street from Gladstone Street, ran into the rear of a stationary car parked on the side of the road at the scene of the accident. The threeseater was overturned into the ditch, but its three ocoupants, including a lady, escaped injury. Both cars were able to proceed under their own power after the, three-seater had been .hoisted out of the cliteli.
