Rev. W. W. Avery, formerly of Eltham, is now in charge of the Birkenhead Methodist Church, and the people of that church are just preparing to celebrate its jubilee.

At the conclusion of Requiem Mass at St. Patrick's Church, Masterton, on Friday in celebration of the Month’s Mind to the late Monsignor McKenna. Hi s Grace Archbishop O'Shea announced that Rev. Father N. Moore, parish priest at Patea, had been appointed to a similar position at Masterton in succession to the late Monsignor McKenna. For the third successive year Mr W. McL’Dowie, of Matapu, was elected on Saturday as president of the Egmont Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Appreciation of his services was voiced by Mr D. S. Richardson, who, in proposing a vote of thanks to The president, expressed the opinion I that Mr McL’Do wie had earned out the duties with marked ability and enthusiasm. The motion _ of thanks was endorsed by acclamation from the meeting.
