FULL SPEED AHEAD.
The constable got into the witnessbox to give evidence in a case of exceeding a speed limit. “Can you tell the court at what speed the defendant was travelling?” asked the inspector who conducted the prosecution. The constable scratched his head thoughtfully for a moment or two. “I’m not sure that I know,” he said. “You see, he was going so fast that I didn’t see him till he was out of sight. ”
