WANGANUI RACES
SECOND DAY’S PROSPECTS
REVIEW OF THE, FIELDS. (By Telegraph—Special to “The Star.”) WANGANUI, May 10. Favoured with good acceptances, the Wanganui Jockey Club should have an excellent meeting to-morrow. A fair amount of rain lias fallen since Thursday’s racing concluded, but as the track is recognised as the best winter one the Dominion possesses, and the going will not be bad although it will possibly affect the form of some competitors. For the Rata Hack Hurdles Air Force, Wliisogne and Lin Arlington should, go well, If produced for -the Balgownie Hack, Werata will have many admirers, while Auctioneer will also go. well. Elicit and Prince Lu are likely_ to do better over the shorter distance f the May Hurdles. Brigadier Bill ran well till the final obstacle on Thursday and, a repetition of the, forn< will find him handy at the finish of the Grandstand Steeplechase. Several appear to hold good prospects in the Empire Handicap, but High Faintin’, Admiral Drake and Suvermine are a trio worthy of consideration. For the'Farewell Hack, Ben Hur appeals most, but Brilliant Light and Tahoma may improve on Thursday’s showing. With seventeen good class sprinters engaged in the Winter - Oats hackers will want luck to find the winner. Laughing Prince, Just An. Idea and Moa, Bird are threo that- should command a following.
