HALL COMMITTEE

I The adjourned meeting in connection with the annual election of a hall committee was held last night. Mr L. Houlalian presided over an attendance of 12. Alter explaining the reason for the meeting the chairman called for noininationis, with, the result that the following were elected: Mrs AY. JohuI istno, Mrs W. Baker, Messrs A. G. Robertson, D. Blair, W. F. Baker and D. Crawford. A resolution was alsocarried giving the incoming committee power to add to their number, several speakers suggesting that there might be some unable to attend that night but who would be willing to act on the committee. . . Mr E. J. Betts, one of the original trustees for the hall, who bad been a former chairman for a very long period, attended and addressed the meeting. Mr Betts congratulaed those present, especially the ladies ior coming forward to help to carry on. He stated that in former years the hall had always been loyally supported by the public, and an immense amount ot work bad been done at various tunes He saw no reason for pessimism and felt that under the new committee the i hall should have a new lease of hie.
