Divorces at the rate of one every five minutes were disposed of by Mr Justice Ostler in the Wellington Supreme Court yesterday, wlhen 29 eases were dealt with.

A hot spring has been discovered on the top of a hill on Mr J. 'S. Tosland’s Arawhata farm. The water is lukc warm, and in the early morning steam may be seen raising from the spring. A nearly new Plymouth limousine was found last evening at the corner of the Main South and Inalia. Roads, having crashed into the ditch just at the corner of Mr Snowdon’s farm, with its righthand front wheel against the telegraph pole. The car was fairly badly damaged but there was no sign of anv passengers or .driver. There was another unemployed demonstration at Auckland yesterday morning, this time outside the offices o'f the Charitable Aid Board. A committee of the unemployed entered the offices and informed the officer in charge that they had been informed by Hon. A. J. iStallworthy that they could legally demand adequate maintenance. They presented specific demands, including 3'6s a week for single men and 30s each for a. man and wife. On being told that their demands could not possibly be met, the committee withdrew and discussed the position with those outside.

The Town* Clerk (Mr. H. S. Elliott) has received the following letter of appreciation from Miss M. McCormick, sole mistress of the Whareroa School: “On behalf of my committee, my pupils and myself, I wish to thank your council for the kindness and consideration shown to ns while we attended the swimming baths during the hitter part of the season. We are Looking forward to attending there again next season.” During two months of the season just ended approximately .30 pupils of the Wliareroa (School, practically all non-swimmers, were taught and in the short period gained remarkable skill in the art of natation. Valuable and much- appreciated assistance was given by the baths custodian (Mr. Jas. Dowdle).
