Ernest Lotinga proceeded against J. C. Williamson, Ltd., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, claiming £76 allegedly owing, but the case came- to a sudden end when Mr. McNeil, S.M., decided that he had no jurisdiction. Tlie comedian’s-claim was that J. C. Williamson, Ltd., agreed to pay him a share of the profits with a guarantee of not less than £2OO a week, to be paid each week, and that, for the week ending March 28 lie was paid only £125. the claim being for the balance. Mr. McNeil’s decision was on the ground that J. C Williamson, Ltd., was insufficiently described on the plaint as carrying oil. -business in Wellington and elsewhere in New Zealand as theatrical managers.
