OPERATIONS IN THE AIR. There are racks for surgical appliances of all sorts, and room for two attendant nurses as well as a doctor. An ice chest, fresh water tanks, a.iul a small electric stove tor heating natei form wait of the equipment, lilve machine* is fitted with two Napier Uon engines, giving a total of nearly 1000 horse-power, and the aerial operating room can be maintained in the air with only one engine working with very little reduction of speed. . Operations would he carried out in mid-air only in tili e most urgent eases; but there have been instances where the lives of settlers, soldiers, and natives in remote outposts could have been saved if an immediate operation followed > y skilled nursing, could have been assured. The new aeroplane will meet this need.
