OLD VETERAN PASSES

SERVICE IN MANY CAMPAIGNS. LATE, TROOPER ROWLEY HILL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 15. Geo rge. Hill, better known as. Trooper Rowley Hill, one of Auckland’s oldest veterans, died at Takapuna this morning, aged 93. The veteran fought with Garibaldi, was at Sevastopol, and also with Peel’s Brigade in the Indian Mutiny. He was at the relief cf Lucknow and was a, member of Von Tempsky’s Forest Rangers in the Maori War.
