A special train of 27 truck® of sheep left Raetihi at 12.30 a.m. to-day, and when it was between Rocbfort and Ohakune it was found that the engine was unable to 1 draw the load. The train and the engine took about 15 trucks on to Ohakune Junction, leaving 'the guard in charge of the remainder. Raetihi station yard. A van and about nine loaded trucks went over a bank. The trucks were smashed and the van was damaged and was buried in a swamp up tot its floor. About 200 sheep were killed and others, were injured. The were bought at Freeman R. Jackson’s ewe fair on Thursday. No one was hurt.
