CABIN MACHINES FOR N.Z. Three new three-seated Desoutter cabin monoplanes, of the same type as that which Flying Officers H. L. Piper and O. E, Kay are now flying from England to Australia, are due to arrive shortly in New Zealand, according to Mr. I. L. Knight, of Dominion Airlines, the company which lias the agency for these machines. The machines are of a type not previously seen in New Zealand, and are said to give an excellent performance, having been adopted for taxi work by National Flying Services, a company which was recently formed to popularise flying in Great Britain (says the “Christchurch Times”). One of the machines is for Hamilton Airways, another for Mr. George Nicholls. of Gisborne, and the third for Mr. Jack Newman, of Nelson, one of the directors of Dominion Airlines. The Desoutter is a comparatively new machine, having been on the market in England for less than a year. It is a high-wing monoplane, fitted with a Hermes 110 liorse-power engine, and the passengers sit in the same cabin as the pilot, just behind him.
