SCHOOL MANUAL WORK
WINTER, SHOW FEATURE. BIG DISPLAY EXPECTED. Space reservations for an extensive array of manual work from pujblic schools at the South Taranaki Winter * Show this year have been made by the manager, tMr L. 0. Hooker, of Hawera. The manual work display is to be a special feature beyond the usual school classes. Approval of the Minister of Education (the Hon. H. Atmore) has already been given and co-operation extended by the Taranaki and Wanganui Education Boards. All .schools are being requested to arrange for an entry. No restrictions on spacei are being made and it- is expected that a; striking exhibition of this important branch of school training will appear. Exhibits are to be arranged under the supervision of the Education Department and three special prizes of £5, £3 and £2 will be given and diplomas of mefit null also be awarded. Entrance is free,.
The show opens on Wednesday, June 25, and closes a week later. In a communication addressed to head teachers and despatched yesterday the show manager points out that entries should be lodged not later than the middle of May before the schools close for the May term holidays.
