All rights for publication reserved throughout the world. Wireless to “New York Times. Received 11.30 a.m. to-day. BAY OF WHALES, Feb. 12. About one-third of our men are living in a tent on the other side of the bay, where they have stowed our equipment as it is taken over by the dog sledges. They have a mess hall made from dog crates. They dug down in the snow and placed crates along the sides and put aeroplane propeller boxes over top for beams. Over these they placed a tarpaulin. A table is made from a Ford ski. upside down. The hall provides shelter of a sort, although on days like yesterday aud to-day it is not free from draught.
