ILLUSTRATED LECTURES PROMISED. HUT NEARLY FINISHED. At the regular monthly meeting of the Mount Egmont Alpine Club, held last evening, there wore present: Messrs L. 0. Hooker (in the chair), R. Syrne, H. W. S-winbum, A. Snowdon, T. Lay, H. N. Murray, E, Addis, T. E. McKenzie (secretary) and Miss Southcorn be. . i Resolutions of condolence with the relatives of the victims of the recent Tasman Glacier tragedy and also with Mr and Mrs A.' R. Bates (Kaponga) in their family bereavement were recorded. Matters in connection with construction of the hut on Fa-ntham’s Peak were fully discussed), aud it was decided to discontinue club tramips until completion of the hut at the end of February or early in March. It was announced that Messrs F. i 'W. Vosseler, president of the Tararua Tramping Club, and Harper, vice-pre-sident of the New Zealand Alpine Club, had promised to deliver lectures, with lantern displays, relative to Alpine climbing in New Zealand), to mem--1 hers of the Mount Egmont Club at an early date. The desirability of the formation of n, New Zealand Alpine Association in the interests of (and embracing all) tl\e climbing and tramping clubs was discussed at length, but nothing of a definite nature was determined.
