SPIRITLESS BIDDING. DECLINE IN PRICES. AUCKLAND, Jan. 21. “While there was a full representative bench of buyers the sal©, eoulld be characterised only as dull and’ til© bidding dragged,” states the official report issued by the Auckland WoolOiokers’ Association ,at the close of today’s sale. • Bradford was the. principal buyer of fleece woof, with Germany piokmg up odd lots suitable for its requirements. For bellies, pieces and lambs’ wool French buyers were the chief operators. Prices, compared with those ruling in the November sale at this centre, could be quoted from 3d to 4d below, bat in comparison with the recent sale at Napier the best wools could be quoted at a lialifpenny to three-farthings down, and 1 for ordinary top-making sorts from three-farthings to a penny d,.-,vn. While 'prices iare very low,, it appears from latest reports from London that they will be. still lower. Lambs’ wool met, with very poor oom- < .tit-ion. tb© bulk of it being passed. .
