MAUI POMARE’S CARGO

KEPORTS DENIED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. The suggestion that the Maui Pouiare’s bananas were landed in an overripe condition was denied in official quarters this morning. Jt was stated that the fruit was landed in good condition and no loss had occurred. It was true some of the fruit had ripened, but this was due to the extreme heat experienced during January. It was incorrect to say the ripeness was duo to any fault in the refrigerating plant. It was possible that the public would benefit as the result of ripeness.
