The two-year-old Goldzolie broke -IPsec. over a similar journey, while Calamine did strong pace work. H. Cook gave M. Conway’s train, Joy Spear, Royal Acre, Bon Eve and the two-year-old, useful pace work. O. Cox’s head man Clem Trotter galloped Clever and The Warden together over five furlongs, the former finished slightly in front in 1 4sec. Valpre and Fortaliee went four furlongs Valpre finishing a head in front in 5 l-ssec.

The two-year-olds, Kilting and the Chief Ruler-Penella filly, galloped three furlongs on the grass in 39) sec. Araukuku, Coalbag and Derby’s Choice were given light exercise. Hawera horses again made their presence felt at Trentham on Monday. After running fourth on four occasions om Saturday they went better on, Monday with two firsts and a second. Lady Lucerne and Our Nancy from Stratford in charge of J. Wade and Bonogne -and the Swell from New Plymouth (R. Johnson) were passengers by train this morning for Askhurst.
