BOMBSHELL TO CRICKETERS
CLIMATE IN ENGLAND. PROMINENT AUSSIES AFFECTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copy right.) Received 1 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Jan. 21. The test team selector, Mr H. Jones’, threw a bombshell into a meeting of the New South Wales Cricket Association by announcing that the selectors had consulted a medical authority as to whether the climatic conditions in England would affect Ponsfqrd, Woodfmil. Oldfield, and Jackson, in view of their recent injuries and illness. The replv was: “Undo'ubtcdfy yes.” As a result of this dramatic statement the association carried! a resolution urging that 16 players he sent, to England.
