OPUNAKE BEACH

I FETE TO AID FUNDS. TO-MORROW’S ATTRACTIONS. In order to further popularise the beach at Opunake and to add to the funds for improvements," the Opunake Beach Improvement Society have arranged a grand fete to-morrow, with a. most attractive programme of events that should interest old and young. Under the direction of Messrs T. S. Hickey and F. B. Eouhy (the president and secretary) the committee has made most complete arrangements to provide an enjoyable day’s outing. There will be surfing for all, children’s races, treasure hunt, musical motor chairs and a new and most amusing game called sackhall. For this game teams are selected and have to play in sacks. It is highly diverting. There will also be Staig’s carnival attractions, in all a programme that will keep everyone interested and amused the whole day. The Federal Band will also give a series of selections, and picnic parties will be able to obtain hot water free at anv time. There will be amnle room for bathers* in the dressing sheds. At the pavilion in the evening a grand dance will be held, with music by Coburn’s Star Orchestra.
