NOTED RUGBY PLAYER
DEATH OF MR C. G. MOORE
A well-known and highly-respected resident of Wellington, Mr Charles G. iMoore, passed away on Saturday at the age of 63, says the “Dominion.’’ Th e late Mr (“Pony’’) Mioore was a noted Rugby player in the eighties and nineties. He played for the Poneke Club, and soon gained a place in the Wellington representative fifteen playing against A. E. Stoddart's English team in ISSS. and also against the New Zealand Native team in the same year before their departure for Great Britain. He had experience of play in many centres in New Zealand, as at various times hrepresented Manawatu, King Country and Canterbury. The funeral took place at, Karori, and aid Rugby players who paid their last trilnit ( . of respect to his memory included Messrs S. Cockcroft, W. Fraser, Marcus Marks, F. Young, and A. F. Wiren. “Pony,” as the late Air Moore was known, was well known in Taranaki, where he played for several of the southern clubs.
