PLAYING WITH POWDER
EKPLOSION IN BOTTLE BOY’S SIGHT ENDANGERED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. A boy named A. Bain, aged 11, who was playing at Takanini emptied the powder from a cartridge into a bottle m and Inserted a lighted match. He retired with a- companion but nothing happened. Bain then returned and as he leaned over it the bottle exploded. He sustained an injury which, it is feared, has endangered his eyesight.
