A gang of 330 men was recruited in Blenheim oil Monday to proceed to Murchison, where they will he engaged on the reconstruction of the Buller Gorge highway. Most of the men are single, and were thrown out of employment when the relief work * at Dumgroe plantations was completed about a fortnight ago. There were about half-a-dozen unsuccessful applicants for positions in the party. Soon of the cable news on tills page as is so headed has appeared in “The Times” and is cabled to Australia and New Zealand by special permission.
