The Appeal Court dealing with, the recent dismissals from the Telegraph stalf will commence sitting at Auckland on February 4. Proceedings will be open to the Press (states a Press Association message sent from Auckland today). At this time of the year the twin poihutukawa trees in the Magistrate’s Court grounds at Haweirn usually form one of the sights of the town, and this Season is no exception to the rule, except in the fact that only one of the pair of New Zealand's most beautiful flower-bearing trees is in full bloom. It is a perfect blaze of deep crimson flowers in such profusion that the green foliage is dwarfed almost to extinction. The other specimen as yet shows only ;a few blooms. There has also been a fine show of blooms on one tree in the tower grounds. The British, Canadian and South African farmers who are due shortly to visit Taranaki will be entertained by the various cattle breed societies. The Now Plymouth Jersey Club has arranged to hold a display of cattle at Bell Block, ait a welcome gathering of breeders on February 28.
