TAKES UNOCCUPIED CABIN FIXED £5 BY COURT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 11. Samuel Weir, aged 19, of Blautyre, Scotland, was charged at East. Ham as a stowaway on board the vessel Rangitiki from New Zealand. The prosecution said that Weir, .carrying a suitcase and ukulele boarded the Rangiriki at Wellington among the passengers. He told a steward he had cabin 392, after which for 20 days he was served as a passenger with food and participated in dances and •entertainments. When the ocicupant of the cabin, which was not. required on tiie first, part of the voyage, arrived Weir said, “All right, my people will pay.” A further £3 was spent, at. his request in wirelessing, but it was discovered that his people were not. in a position to pay. Weir, who was smartly dressed, did not conceal his amusement during the prosecution’s recital. He , was fined £5.
