MONTE CARLO BOMBSHELL
SPORTING CLUB EDICT. WOMEN PATRONS EXCLUDED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) ROME, Jan. 11. A bombshell has fallen on the gambling world of Monte Carlo, where women will be barred from the International Sporting Club, where really high play occurs, though they are still free to gamble in the public rooms of the casino, where the stakes are limited. The new regulation is a sequel to women 'committing suicide owing to gambling losses. Monte Carlo’s action is in striking contrast to that of the authorities of the now casino at Nice, where women are encouraged and are proving to be as heavy gamblers as men.
