Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: There was a large yarding of fat cattle, including a choice line of prime bullocks. Prime bullocks were sold up to £l3 14s; light-weight fat steers, £ll 3s to £l2 2s; choice young cows and heifers, up to £ll 2s Gd; good young cows and heifers, £9 to £lO ss; aged and inferior cows, £7 10s to £9 ss; light cows, £6 to £7 2s Gd. Very few store cattle were yarded. Forward conditioned cows sold at up to £6 10s. A pen of mixed quality yearling steers made £5 lOts. There was a large yarding of fat sheep. Prime fat wethers sold at up to 295; extra prime fat wethers 24s to 255; fat ewes, up to 18s; forward woolly lambs, 16s 9d. Heavv baeoners made £3 14s to £4 Is ; medium £3 8s to £3 12s; best porkers, £2 17s to £3 2s; light, £2 11s to £2 15s; large stores, £l 15s to £2 4s; slips, £1 8s to £1 13s; best weaners, £1 2is to £1 6s; small, 16s to 18s.

WESTFIELD SALES. AUCKLAND, Jan. 8. At the Westfield sale to-day ox beef was penned in Lsmnll numbers. The quality was first-class, and with strong demand the market showed an improvement. Prime medium weight bullocks realised £l2 17s 6d to £l3 15s, and light prime bullocks £l2 ss. Cow and heifer beef was penned in numbers well up to the average. The demand was strong, and all classes sold at well up to late rates. Prime young cows and heifers from Waikato realised £lO 10s to £ll 2s 6d. One pen of extra well-finished young cows from Waikato realised £ll 10s. Extra good vouug cows and heifers realised £lO 15s to £ll 10s, heavy cows and heifers £9 2s 6d to £lO. medium £7 12s Gd to £8 15s, and light £6 17s Gd to £7 ss. Extra choice ox sold to 43s per cwt. choice and prime 39s to 41s, plain and secondary 34s to 365, prime young cow and heifer 395, iust killable 29,s to 31s. Sheep were penned in slightly less than usual numbers. There was an improved demand, with values better than at the previous sale. Two trucks of prime wethers from Waikato realised 26s to 28$ 3d. Prime wethers from the Otahuhu Trotting Club sold at 28s 3d, and ewes from Waikato 19s 6d to 20s 3d. Heavy prime wethers (shorn) made 27;s 3d to 28s 3d, medium 25s to 265, heavy prime ewes 20s 3d, lighter 19s 6d, other ewes 17s. Lambs were offered in smaller numbers than last week. Values were about on a par with those of the previous sale. Pleavy prime lamb brought 245, medium 22s 6d, and light 21s. Calves were penned in small numbers, and sold at rather better values than last week. Runners made £5 10s to £6 10s, heavy vealers £4 to £4 12s. medium £3 to £3 15s, light £2 2s to £2 16s, rough and small 12s to £1 IQs. Pigs sold under k een competition, with values very firm. Choppers made £2 10s to £3 15s, heavy choppers £3 16s to £4 2s. medium £3 9s to £3 15s, light £3 to £3 7s, heavy porkers £2 14s to £3. medium light £2 5s to £2 12s. LONDON MEAT MARKET.
